Kadir Has University – Local Organiser
Founded in 1997 by the Kadir Has Foundation, Kadir Has University (KHAS) is
a leading, not-for-profit foundation university located on the historic
shore of the Golden Horn in Istanbul’s Cibali district.
Housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century tobacco factory that earned
a Europa Nostra heritage award, the campus blends history with
state-of-the-art academic facilities.

KHAS is home to five faculties and more than 5,000 students, supported by 200+ academic staff. Flagship research centres include the Center for Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure Protection (CCIP), the Energy &
Sustainable Development Centre, and many others. In recent rankings KHAS placed 551 – 600 in the 2025 QS European University Ranking and 801 – 1,000 in THE World University Rankings 2025, while ranking 5th nationally among universities with fewer than 6,000 students (URAP 2024-25).
